What happens if a child tells us something

Safeguarding

Draft operating policy, not approved for global enrollment. Operator identity, regional requirements, human staffing and policy review must be verified before launch.

A child who is not safe is not a learner, and every other thing this school does is downstream of that. This is a draft operating procedure. Staff clearance, contact routes, response coverage and regional reporting procedures remain unverified.

Requirements before an adult may support learners

If a child discloses harm

The tutor classifies every message before any model sees it. If a child indicates self-harm, suicidal thinking, or that someone is hurting them, then on that turn:

  1. The academic session stops. The tutor does not continue the lesson.
  2. The tutor does not counsel, diagnose, or advise. It tells the child that telling someone was the right thing to do, and encourages them to seek help from a trusted adult. It must not promise that a person is coming without a verified response.
  3. Configured services can attempt to route an alert. Delivery is not acknowledgment and does not prove that a qualified person is available. Staff must perform and record a real response drill before launch.
  4. The operator must establish and review reporting procedures for every supported region before enrollment. Contacting the family is not automatic, because the family is sometimes the source of the risk.

The child’s words are not copied into the incident record. The concern is recorded; the disclosure itself belongs to the conversation with a person.

Conduct

No adult contacts a child outside school channels. No photography. Every conversation is on a logged channel. A concern about a colleague goes to the Safeguarding Lead, never to the colleague.

What we will not do

We do not watch children to keep them safe. No camera, no attention tracking, no emotion inference, no engagement scoring. Surveillance is not safeguarding, and a school that monitors children in the name of protecting them has changed what the word means.

Reporting a concern

Anyone, a parent, a child, a member of staff, may raise a concern.
